Salary: R311 784 per annum
Requirements: A degree or equivalent qualification in Financial Accounting or Management Accounting. At least three years' relevant experience in Accounting, Audit environment, Public sector Financial Management, implementation of GRAP, PFMA and Treasury Regulations. Knowledge of AccPac, Pastel and VIP Payroll will be an added advantage. Completed Articles will be an added advantage.
Key responsibilities: Monitor and check all functions, processes and procedures pertaining to accounts payable and accounts receivable. Monitor and check effective cash management. Ensure that weekly and monthly bank reconciliations are done timeously. Oversee, monitor and check all salary related inputs and statutory returns. Check submissions related to salary related payments, Subsistence and Travel claims and advances. Ensure all SARS payments are made timeously. Assist in the preparation of the payroll budget. Verify monthly inventory count. Prepare and check monthly journals. Ensure that fixed assets register reconciles monthly to the general ledger. Assist in AFS preparation and NT AFS template and check monthly general ledger reconciliations. Ensure that all finance policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to. Implement audit recommendations. Control/ Mitigate risks associated with the Finance unit.
