Overall Objective

Salary per annum:R289 761

Minimum requirements: A degree or equivalent qualification in economics, business economics and accounting. Experience in economic/ financial analysis will be an added advantage. A solid understanding of the role of ITAC. A good understanding of the Automotive Production and Development Programme (APDP). Proven policy analysis, research, problem-solving, report writing, project management and presentation skills.

Key responsibilities: Conduct investigations on applications regarding customs tariff amendments and administer various industrial rebates/ drawback provisions. Assist the Commission in its considerations and decision-making regarding tariff investigations through written submissions and presentations. Interpret policy and Commission's decisions to the stakeholders for effective communication. Represent ITAC at various forums. Ensure compliance with the World Trade Organization (WTO) framework and relevant ITAC policies and procedures.
