Overall Objective

Salary per annum: R630 822

Requirements: A degree in Economics, Accounting and/or Business Economics. Three years' experience as a Senior Investigator or Economic/Financial Analyst. Relevant experience preferably in import tariff investigations, trade and financial analysis and/ or should demonstrate necessary relevant competencies developed through working experience. Good understanding of trade and industrial policies. Policy and research analysis skills. Analytical thinking, research abilities and strategic focus. Problem solving skills. Project management. Computer literacy. Leadership qualities and ability to work independently and in a team. An ability to communicate effectively. Professional conduct and ability to deal with people from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be required to manage, monitor and evaluate the activities of the sub-unit in order to deliver on the desired output and outcomes. Manage and conduct investigations pertaining to tariff amendments, rebates and drawbacks. Provide input into the review and alignment of Policy, Regulations, Guidelines and Practice in compliance with legislative requirements and Government?s policy directives. Provide inputs and technical advice into trade negotiations and sectoral strategies.
