Total remuneration package R726 276 per annum
Requirements: A degree or equivalent qualification in Economics/ Business Economics/ Accounting/ Auditing (a postgraduate degree will be an added advantage). Three (3) years' experience in customs tariff investigations/ economic research/ financial analysis. A solid understanding of the role of ITAC. A solid understanding of the Industrial Policy Action Plan and the New Growth Path Framework. Proven skills in project management, policy analysis, research, problem-solving, report writing and presentation.
Key responsibilities: Conduct investigations on applications regarding customs tariff amendments and administer various industrial rebates/ drawback provisions. Assist the Commission in its considerations and decision-making regarding the investigations through written submissions and presentations. Interpret policy and Commission's decisions to the stakeholders for effective communication. Represent ITAC at various forums and interact with relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with the World Trade Organization (WTO) framework, ITAC policies and procedures. Provide inputs on the review and alignment of Policy, Regulations, Guidelines and Practise. Provide inputs on the unit's business plan and progress reports. Provide inputs on technical advice pertaining to tariff instruments to the Trade and industry and Economic Development Departments. Manage human resources of the sub-unit in order to deliver the desired output and outcomes.
