Overall Objective

Salary: R361 659 per annum: (Ref: ITAC 10/19)

Requirements: A degree or equivalent qualification in accounting, economics or business economics. A postgraduate qualification in one of these fields will be an added advantage. Experience in economic/ financial analysis. A solid understanding of the role of ITAC. Good understanding of the Automotive Production and Development Programme (APDP). Proven experience in policy analysis and research. Problem-solving, report writing, project management and presentation skills.

Key responsibilities: Conduct investigations on applications regarding customs tariff amendments and administer various industrial rebates/ drawback provisions. Assist the Commission in its considerations and decision-making regarding the investigations. Interpret policies and Commission?s decisions to stakeholders. Represent ITAC at various forums. Ensure compliance with the World Trade Organization (WTO) framework and relevant ITAC policies and procedures.
