Defy Appliances (Proprietary) applied for a remedial action against the alleged dumping of fully automatic top load machines, of a dry linen capacity exceeding 10 kg but less than 17 kg imported from China and Thailand. Top load washing machines are a popular household electrical appliance that is used to wash laundry.
ITAC imposes provisional safeguard measures on imports of corrosion resistant steel coil
ArcelorMittal South Africa Limited (AMSA), the major producer of the subject product within the Southern African Customs Union (SACU), applied for a remedial action against increased imports of corrosion resistant steel coil. The application was supported by SAFAL Steel (Pty) Ltd, the other SACU-based producer.

South African Iron & Steel Institute (SAISI), an industry association, brought an application on behalf of ArcelorMittal South Africa Limited, being the major producer of the subject product in the Southern African Customs Union, for an investigation of remedial action in the form of a safeguard measure against the increased imports of hot-rolled steel products.

On 19 April 2024, ITAC initiated a Sunset Review of the anti-dumping duties on garden picks, spades and shovels, rakes, and forks (garden tools) imported from China.
